The Autumn Session of the Convergent Global Travel Roadshow (CGTR 2025) was successfully held in the twin cities of Chengdu and Guangzhou on September 2 and September 4, 2025.
With the core theme of "Diversified Innovation, Connection and Empowerment", this roadshow brought together nearly 40 overseas hotel and tourism exhibitors, and attracted over 300 Chinese outbound tourism practitioners to attend the event for visits and discussions. In addition to the dynamic roadshow exchange sessions, the event also featured exciting segments such as an exclusive VIP closed-door meeting, insights sharing on outbound tourism trends, and presentations by destinations and hotels.
CGTR (Convergent Global Travel Roadshow) is a roadshow IP under Convergent; if an official English name exists, it is recommended to use the official one) focusing on cross-border hotel and tourism resource procurement. Over the past 6 years, it has accumulated cooperation with more than 200 overseas hotel groups and tourism boards, and has attracted over 5,000 travel agency buyers and corporate procurement personnel in total, enjoying wide recognition and a prestigious reputation in the industry.
As the tourism industry maintains a steady upward trend, we will continue to create scenarios for resource connection. Through CGTR, we will link the upper and lower reaches of the industrial chain, providing tourism practitioners with an excellent platform for direct communication with overseas hotels and tourism boards, and joining hands with all colleagues in the tourism industry to paint a bright future together.
This CGTR has assembled the strongest lineup of exhibitors in its history, bringing together exhibitors from countries and regions including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. It not only gathers world-renowned overseas hotel groups such as Four Seasons, Banyan Tree, Centara, and Hilton, but also features distinctive individual hotels from various countries showcasing together. In addition, overseas tourism boards from countries and regions like Singapore, Fiji, Ras Al Khaimah, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and California also attended the event to meet and communicate with everyone on site.
Beyond the aforementioned stellar exhibitor lineup, we have also invited high-quality buyers from China's outbound tourism industry, building a communication bridge for the upper and lower reaches of the industry to achieve unimpeded information flow and efficient resource connection.
This roadshow has once again injected vigorous vitality into the B2B hotel and tourism industry, helping all colleagues in the tourism industry seize opportunities in the rapidly recovering market environment and jointly unlock unlimited opportunities for business cooperation.
In addition, we also invited the Qatar Tourism Authority to guide everyone in unlocking Qatar's unique charm of "Wonderful Moments Worth Pausing For" in a comprehensive and multi-dimensional way from the dual perspectives of practical travel guides and in-depth experiences, ensuring that no local cultural feast is missed.
ClubMed, a global leader in holiday resorts, also brought new inspirations to on-site buyers. From selected holiday destinations around the world to immersive experiences covering various sports and wellness activities, every detail is designed to create an "all-inclusive, worry-free" vacation experience.
As Convergent's live broadcast program "C-TALK" – dedicated to empowering tourism industry partners – marks its first anniversary, we have also taken this special occasion to grandly present "Hotel & Tourism Industry Training Expert Certificates" to hotel guests, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to tourism industry training and empowerment.
Chengdu Session
Themed Seminar: What Kind of Hotel and Tourism Products & Services Do High-End Chinese Travelers Need?
Over the past two years, Chengdu’s high-end tourism consumption market has been on a steady rise. Compared with the pre-pandemic period, the per capita consumption expenditure has increased by 20%, and the per capita consumption ratio for outbound travel has also risen by 12%.
Against the backdrop of this market where both consumption power and willingness are growing, we invited Yang Jin (Head of Sales Office, China Region, Banyan Tree Group), Zhao Qin (Trade Manager, Greater China Region, Fiji Tourism Board), and He Jiayi (General Manager, Chuangjing Tourism), to jointly explore the question “What kind of hotel and tourism products & services do high-end Chinese travelers need?” Focusing on cutting-edge industry cases, the discussion centered on three perspectives: demand, products, and the market.
Themed Seminar: When Tourism and Accommodation Services Meet AI: Application Scope and Implementation Practices Empowered by Digitalization
Today, tourism and accommodation services are embracing a new round of technological transformation. AI and digitalization are no longer merely tools, but have become crucial drivers for improving industrial efficiency and upgrading user experiences. As a "Hotel +" digital and intelligent integrated service platform, our company invited Ouyang Liuyi (Director of South China Sales, Centara Hotels & Resorts), Wang Xiao (Director of Cultural Tourism Solutions, Tencent Smart Cultural Tourism), and Wu Yuhong (Product Director, Guangzhou DragonPass), to jointly explore the topic "When Tourism and Accommodation Services Meet AI: Application Scope and Implementation Practices Empowered by Digitalization".
In the closed-door meetings held in both cities, we also invited Zheng Li, Chief Representative of Seibu Prince Hotels & Resorts, and Zhao Qin, Trade Manager of Fiji Tourism Board (Greater China Region), to introduce hotel and destination resources to all attendees.
At the closed-door meeting, Hu Baichuan, Director of Channel Operations at Convergent, introduced the three core leading strategies—"Leadership in Global Hotel & Tourism Supply Chain, Leadership in Product & Ecosystem Empowerment, and Leadership in Comprehensive Service Support"—to the heads of various travel agencies, and presented the development data of the Convergent platform. As a digital and intelligent platform that prioritizes customer experience, Huizhi is committed to a customer-centric approach, continuously upgrading its platform capabilities to provide industry practitioners with high-quality global hotel and tourism resources. Through comprehensive value empowerment in products, operations, and marketing, we aim to help our clients seize more business development opportunities and jointly promote the common prosperity of the hotel and tourism industry ecosystem.
After the conclusion of the closed-door meeting discussions, all participating guests attended a luncheon together. The outcomes of the earlier discussions continued at the dining table, allowing industry partners to further explore potential cooperation opportunities and forge deeper, more heartfelt connections in a relaxed atmosphere.
At the roadshow site, Hu Yuwen, Marketing Director of Convergent, presented an analysis of the changing trends in outbound tourism based on the overall outbound tourism data performance in the first half of 2025, and shared insights into consumers' travel destination preferences and overseas accommodation consumption behaviors.
Our research findings indicate that in terms of destination selection, Chinese tourists' demand for outbound travel is expanding from nearby short-haul travel to long-haul in-depth travel, and the long-haul tourism market has now demonstrated enormous growth potential. In terms of tourists' consumption preferences, short-haul and medium-haul travelers are more inclined to choose high-star hotels to enhance their travel quality. However, long-haul travelers, due to longer itineraries, more cities visited, and generally higher average hotel prices at destinations compared to short-haul trips, tend to prioritize cost-effectiveness when selecting accommodations.
Overall, in the first half of 2025, China's outbound tourism market has shown a sustained growth trend, with the release of demand for long-haul travel, the expansion of destination coverage, travel mainly driven by holidays, differentiated preferences for hotel star ratings, and a continuous upgrade in consumption trends. Looking ahead to the second half of the year, the popularity of the National Day Holiday (October 1st Holiday) has already emerged; coupled with the continuous empowerment of factors such as favorable airline routes and visa policies, the outbound tourism market is showing a sustained upward trend.

We look forward to sharing the industry's dividends with our partners and becoming a valuable ally for colleagues in the tourism sector.
We have always believed that cooperation is never merely a simple "you supply, I demand" relationship; it should be about co-building an ecosystem and achieving win-win outcomes together. Moving from an initial "transactional relationship" to a future "value-based partnership" is our firm development direction.
To express our gratitude to the hotels we cooperate with in the industry, we held an award ceremony for the hotels that have maintained in-depth cooperation with us. None of Huizhi’s milestones could have been achieved without your consistent trust. We would like to thank our valued overseas hotel partners—it is you who have turned every cooperation into fruitful results of mutual benefit.
Meanwhile, we feel extremely honored to have such a perfect occasion to invite our important hotel partners from various countries to gather together in Guangzhou. Taking this opportunity, we announced Huizhi's "Hotel X" · Ecosystem Co-Creator Initiative to all of you.

For friends who were unable to attend in person, we had already made live broadcast preparations in advance, allowing online audiences to closely follow the rhythm of the roadshow as if they were physically present, despite the screen between us.
Not only that, overseas hotel exhibitors also provided industry practitioners with a wealth of room voucher prizes. Our company also prepared a variety of colorful peripheral gifts. On-site industry practitioners participated actively, making the scene extremely lively!
The day after each roadshow stop concluded, we also organized a corporate visit, leading hotel partners to visit Chengdu Youxiang Travel, Chengdu Chunqiu Tourism, Guangzhou Kanghui International Travel Service, and Guangdong Lvzhou International Travel Service. During the visits, in-depth exchanges and sharing sessions were held with the enterprises’ leaders and relevant business teams, and the group discussion sessions were marked by an lively atmosphere.
By creating in-depth offline communication scenarios through corporate visits, we aim to build a more efficient supply-demand connection platform for all upstream and downstream partners. In the future, we will continue to expand global hotel and tourism resources, upgrade the platform's service capabilities, and provide customers with diversified, cost-effective hotel and tourism products and services to empower all links in the global hotel and tourism industry chain.
